First, we had to make about four sketches of ideas we had for our print. Then we took a bunch of different sized blades and carved our image into a foam block. We made sure to know that whatever we carved our would show up white in our final printed image. Then we put block printing ink on a small roller and rolled it onto the block. We then put the block on a piece of thick paper and flipped it upside down and rubbed it on the paper with a plastic spoon. Then Britt taught us how to measure the piece and make a frame for it. This is called matting the artwork.
