IntroductionThe tessellations POW was part of the unit, "Do Bees Build It Best?" and it helped me understand the unit question clearly. The unit question was, "Is the honeycomb an efficient shape for storing honey?". Completing the tessellations POW taught me that one of the main reasons the honeycomb is an efficient shape for storing honey is because hexagons can tessellate. This means that they can fit together like puzzle pieces while being able to support each other and be stable.
